As you travel towards the front seasonal porch, with the original wood screen door, slow your pace and enjoy the soothing sounds coming from the water fountain. Announce your arrival by ringing the antique doorbell. As you step into the entry way, take time to notice the stenciled design. As the solid wooden door opens into the foyer, you will see the staircase ascending to the second floor illuminated by the Cherub lights. Your hostess welcomes you, asking you to sign the register; you are offered a refreshing drink in a beautiful champagne glass. Observe the hand-crafted oak woodwork, the hardwood floors, the vintage floor coverings, and antiques throughout the Estate.

The front parlor is a place to repose, where you are surrounded by cottage windows and a design stenciled on one wall. As you step back into the drawing room, warm yourself in front of the grand fireplace, which is flanked by two china cupboards. Let your eyes roam upward to the lettering and the flowers of “The Marshall Estate and B & B” hand painted by a local artist. You can also savor the famous Renoir painting “Girl with Watering Can”.

Then as you stroll into the formal dining room, allow yourself to be transported back to a time when meals were a special occasion to be savored. When seated at the candle-lit table, you are encircled by the built-in buffet, a rounded window seat, and antique lighting. As you are served a delicious meal, let yourself be embraced by the romantic atmosphere of this dining experience.

After you finish your meal you can mosey out to the garden room that overlooks the secluded, well lit courtyard or join others in the Carriage House.

We invite you to join us for a night, a weekend retreat, or a week long vacation. Use your stay at the Estate as a getaway, a place to rest as you visit family & friends, and take in all the sites that the Litchfield community and area has to offer. Let us be your host for your wedding, anniversary, your group of scrap-bookers', quilters', or antiquers', your Red Hat group, church meetings, a get-together of friends, or your hunting party.

You can join us for Brunch, Lunch, Luncheon or Dinner, or a Murder Mystery Dinner.

We also have a Murder Mystery Package, which includes the Murder Mystery Dinner and an overnight stay with a wonderful candle-lit breakfast.

Please note that alcoholic beverages are not provided by “The Marshall Estate and B & B”. The estate will not be liable for any accidents related to the consumption of alcohol brought in from the outside. Please drink responsibly.
